Speak out on Warrantless Wiretaps

Got this from a friend....

+++++++++++

Dear Friend,

I added my name in support of Senate Resolution 350, a clear statement that the 2001 Authorization for Military Force does not authorize the President's warrantless domestic surveillance program.

Please review it, add your name in support and spread the word about this important document:

We need everyone we can to show the White House that we won't accept their excuses for going it alone in this program and endangering our national security in the process.

Please join me in supporting this Senate resolution:

Thank You!

remember, the current administration keeps a database of everyone who disagrees with them. the leader of the administration frequently says "you're either with us, or you're with the terrorists" as if those were 2 opposing sides of an issue. i'm not going to add my name to a list so an administration with no regard for law can do something even worse to me later because i disagree with their policies. call me paranoid if you wish, but sometimes they really are out to get you.

You have reason to be fearful, mj. Especially if you plan to return to the U.S. anytime soon.

Let's not forget Canadian citizen, Maher Arar, who's lawsuit against the U.S. government was recently thrown out of the court.

Mr. Arar -- who was trying to make a connecting flight in New York to Canada, was detained by U.S. officials and sent back to his place of birth to be tortured and locked up in solitary confinement for almost 1 year.

Mr. Arar had lived in Canada for 20 years and left Syria at the age of 17 because he wanted to escape mandatory military recruitment.
