Michael - did Wei finally manage to raise the funds to complete this film? There's no mention of the film on the International Movie Database, or on Wei's IMDB page.
Saw it a day ago. Love the music and the epic feeling to this movie. Having a hard time believing this was done with independent budgets...
I really hope he completes this film. I think films like this further solidifies Taiwan as its own entity culturally, if not politically as well.
Trailer looks like the Aboriginal Version of 1895.
Man, I'm glad to see this project go forward. Freddy Lin of Chthonic told me a few years back that Wei sank all of his money into the demo footage used in Chthonic's video for 半屍 橫氣山林. Cape No. 7 must have really opened the funding spigot for him.
damn, this is for sure by far the best Taiwanese made epic film (if there was any before)...
i'm not really of seediq origin, but Mowaisu bale to the director of this film!
