US brought down 4 potential regional hegemon during 20th century: Imperial Germany, Imperial Japan, Nazi Germany and Soviet Union. I believe that Washington Elites have decided to bring down China before it becomes regional hegemon. Even Kissinger is on-board:

US is forming alliance of Japan,Australia,India and Russia to bring down China. If Taiwan plays its cards right and situation is favorable, we might see Taiwan has de jure independence in our life time.
