I purchased a Meike FC-100 LED ring flash from EachShot.com ($29.99, they take Paypal). The instructions are in hilarious Chinglish, mostly incomprehensible, but the thing works ok. For shots more than a meter away it is probably too weak, but for closeup macro work under half a meter, like this shot, it seems to do fine. You can see the reflection of the flash in the water droplets.
