More like an old lady scares the crap out of me while I'm trying to walk quietly in a pitch black room.
While I agree on the greatness of Israel's overtures in attempting to give Taiwan legitimacy, a bid from a country whose recent actions against other "virtual countries" like Lebanon and Palestine, both of which are just barely managing to hold on, let alone managing to keep land which doesnt' even have much of a chance of staying in their grasp amid daily oppression, torture, and kidnappings by the Israelis, holds little legitamcy. No a bid by other would be countries, like la République de Québec, that would be something. Quebec has more power. And considering the sad state of Canadian politics, these days (like Israel, Germany, and Italy) Canada has a minority government under the leadership of Stephen Harper, which nobody wants. Quebec has a leader, Jean Charest, who is despicable in his actions and attitudes, undemocratic, and who nobody wants either. People in Quebec (myself, on and off, and now more on than off, if it is flexible in giving Quebecers of Canadian origin dual citizenship). All would be and endangered nations (the latter of which Taiwan is) combine forces. If Israel gets its act together like it did under Rabin, then by all means.
Don't get all gushy about Israel, Michael, please.
Those Jews just wanted to check out the betel nut girls and eat Taiwan snacks because they know they don't need to tip. Typical sheisters. Nothing diplomatic.
