Salt Lake City Trib: Intelligent Design? Why Stop there?

The Salt Lake City paper had a great editorial on the President's comments on IDiocy, blogged by the redoubtable ESWN.

And in civics class, why limit students to an understanding of representative democracy, checks and balances and the rule of law? What about equal time for fascism? It's clearly a less complicated, more efficient system of government, one that dispenses with such bothersome notions as elections, free speech and minority rights.

Mormons, to their credit, have never been wingnuts about evolution like the Christian Right. If only they would wake up and realize that their friends are atheists, Hindus, Muslims, Quakers, and everyone else considered a heretic by the Christian Right, instead of aligning themselves with the Right. Mormons should be donating by the million to the ACLU, AU, and other organizations that work to preserve Church-state separation.....
