Even as Taiwan implements mandatory environmental education, Wild At Heart takes out ads on buses in Taipei publicizing megagiant corporation Formosa Plastics 2009 Black Planet Award from Ethik & Okonomie. The video above shows the ads on the side of Taipei buses. The Taipei City government ordered them removed because they hadn't been "properly cleared" whatever that means, and somebody defaced the word "shame" in the ads. Another Public Television video in Mandarin is here.

"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!"
Really, who does the gov't think they're fooling?
Formosa Plastics is a ridiculous drag on Taiwan's economy. They use Taiwan's artificially cheap electricity, water, environmental compliance costs, on top of the artificially low currency that all export companies enjoy, and a govt run hapless competitor (CPC) to print money. Absolutely a shame.
