Come watch the 2008 US Election Returns with your fellow Obama supporters! We've made arrangements for places in Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung with giant screen TVs that'll be great for watching those electoral votes add up. This is a historic election - what better way to celebrate it than to watch it live with all of us!
Lunchtime, Wed. Nov. 5th at:
Taipei: Brass Monkey Bar and Restaurant, No. 166 Fuxing North Road (just north of the Nanjing East Road MRT station). Please RSVP to democratsabroadtaiwan@gmail.com or to taiwanforobama@gmail.com
Taichung: The Early Bird Diner, Chung Ming Nan Rd near the corner of Kungyi Rd. The Diner opens at 7:00 and serves breakfast and lunch. The number there is 09 1139 3694. Please RSVP to Paul Batt at paulbatt@gmail.com
Kaohsiung: JOIN-US bar at Jian Guo 3rd Road, No. 169, B1 (2 min. walk from the Kaohsiung main train station) check out the website at http://www.sanba.net23.net/?q=content/election-return-lunch-join-us

I'll be at the Early Bird Diner a couple of hours before to take in the returns. Hope to see you there. Republicans, please send me your election return watching information so I can post it.

I'm thinking its probably a better idea to have a "01.20.09 End of an Error" (era) party to celebrate the end of the bush disaster.
This would call for a massive street party, a firework show off of Taipei101, a day off from work, prisoner releases, the whole she-bang.

That would be cool. Then both conservatives and liberals could come.
If you just want the party to focus on Obama rather than Bush, you could call it a "01.20.09 Beginning of an Error" party.
'Republicans, please send me your election return watching information..'
hahahaha That's a good one Michael!

As the election returns will come out in the evening US time, they will come out during the morning Taiwan time, and on a weekday.
I suspect the Republicans in Taiwan, like Republicans in the US, are busy during work hours and won't have time to go to a party.
