ACTIVISM: Free Burma March tomorrow in Taipei. David Reid says:A blogger in the US sees a protest against Taiwan. Anyone have anymore information on this? ESWN blogs on the death of a major Taiwan gangster figure. Taiwan Matters! says good riddance to Taiwan's Joe Lieberman. UN WHO reports on the Taiwan-Africa Summit. The Far Eastern Sweet Potato blogs on the UN. Mark blogs on how much better the educational system is here. People who write about "the educational system" should include the cram school system in that definition. nostalgiaphile doesn't think much of the vaunted splits in the DPP either. If the DPP is so divided, how come it has not spun off three other major political parties like the KMT? David looks at a recent Taiwan Review article on Taiwan Studies programs. Just thought I would let you know there is a "Free Burma" march in Taipei on Saturday afternoon. Information was sent to me by Ven. Chao Hwei, a Taiwanese Buddhist nun who was born in Burma. I will tell everyone some more about her at the breakfast meeting. Details are as follows.
1.30pm meet at Taipei City Council on Ren'ai Road
2.00pm start march
3.00pm end march and activities at "green area opposite Taipei 101"
3.30pm finish
There are number of groups involved in organising this including Burmese students, Buddhist Hongshi College, Green Party, Taiwan -- Tibet Association and Amnesty International.
It will go ahead regardless of the weather conditions.

Great post on this. FREE Burma!!!
Bush slammed the UN and the rulers of Myanmar in his UN speech last week. The only country that has any influence over Myanmar is China, and they can't and won't push too hard. There is too much Oil & Gas there that they need.
The UN must do something, but they never use military force to fight.
That is a huge problem.
Illegal drug and ruby fortunes are a BIG part of this too.
absurd thought -
God of the Universe wants
complete narco states
criminals in power
loving the corrupt drug war
absurd thought -
God of the Universe says
shoot peaceful protesters
calling for democracy
which you must never allow
absurd thought -
God of the Universe thinks
keep trying communism
you can never KILL too much
