Comic relief for today: KMT Presidential hopeful Hung Hsiu-chu's Deputy Speaker Legislative Bio. O joy! From the title "brief profile" (2200 words!) to the phrase "fierce Little Chili Pepper", you will savor this bio. Don't be drinking anything as you read this because it is certain to wind up on your keyboard. For special bonus, see her current English Wiki profile which immortalizes her political career thusly:
After years of becoming teacher and director of student affairs, Hung was accidentally discovered and recommended to participate in women's affairs and social affairs at the Taipei County office of the Kuomintang and accidentally elected as legislator.Surely they could find someone in the KMT to check the English of both of these for her. Netizens are going to have a field day. Hurry up and read it since it is certain to be altered....

on the bio - ok, so it's probably the common L/R confusion, but "royal KMT member" seems like it might also be a Freudian slip
ReplyDelete反黑箱課綱 民團嗆7月街頭見 (see http://news.ltn.com.tw/news/focus/paper/886945)
ReplyDeleteSummer blockbuster. Taiwanese high school students open their eyes and Fierce Little Chilly Pepper sprays them.
I started laughing at "As a typical Aries..."
ReplyDeleteHoly crap! She "Stumbled into Legislative Career to Alleviate Guilt for her Father"??????!!!!!! Yes, incapable, passive and privileged! The very things I would want in a legislator!
ReplyDeleteAnd one had better be f&*king awesome to be indomitable as an undergrad.
To be fair, none of the bios of the LY brass are brief, and all of them are chock full or errors. Sec'ty General Lin talks about his big hands (I know it's a common expression in Chinese, but it does suffer in translation)

ReplyDeleteSure, but none of the others are going to be running for President. Frankly it looks like crap when someone does this, Taiwan loses face. I hope the foreign media runs something on her LY site, so all of them get cleaned up.
And there's a competence issue here. Hung should have double-checked all the info about her.

What a load of pathetic, vomit inducing, Chinese fucking chinglish steaming shit.
ReplyDeleteAt least the Spanish legislative bio is well translated.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite line is "During the eight years of the DPP regime." Finally, someone calling out the DPP for their authoritative policies! /s
ReplyDeleteHey, Chinglish is amusing at times, so need your "lespect" and "folgivless."
ReplyDeleteHung is the best thing that has happened to Taiwan in years, and the best candidate--she is courageous, straightforward and principled. Her candidacy was ordained by fate, a confluence of factors out of the ordinary. She is not a traditional lying politician, thank God for that--such is one of her best attributes. She is not a mealy-mouthed person like her DPP opponent. She is like a Wuxia heroine warrior, fighting for truth and justice.

ReplyDeleteShe's vicious, violent, controlling authoritarian colonialist shit. Her defeat will be a victory for humanity.
