yes - 1x, yes - 1x, yes x, and no. I have lived in Taiwan a little over 5 years. My comment on all but the Mazu procession is that they are all too crowded (popular). The Mazu procession is still very crowded but tends to periodically be a bit less crowded.

I've been to Pingxi during the lantern festival, a couple of years ago. It was, indeed, crowded, and I had to try not to think about the imminent conversion of all those pretty lanterns into sodden and persistent trash in the forests, but I don't regret going.

ReplyDeleteThe YEnshui fireworks is going to kill some people some year, it is dangerous and unconcionable to ahev such a sstupuid dangersous festival like taht. watch, the 2013 festival will kill two tourists.....this is stupid and Taiwan will pay the price,
ReplyDeletein fact, every tourist event in taiwan sucks because the country is not set up for tourism, just quick make a buck vendors and crowd scenes,t aht is NOT tourism that is danger zone. like all the bus crashes and garbarge on streets. Taiwan should learn from Japan. But ......this is ROC.
