Come out and vote! This is your chance to actually cast a ballot for a US primary election right here in Taiwan! If you haven't and don't plan on participating in your home state's primary election this year, you can vote in this year's Democratic Party Global Primary.
What is the Global Primary? Basically, Democrats Abroad, internationally, is treated as if it were a 51st state party -- and just like the states have presidential primaries, so do we! Now, our choice for president is really simple this year -- it's Barack Obama. However we'll also be electing the delegates from within the Asia-Pacific region who will attend the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC in September!!

This in no way conflicts with or precludes you from voting in your home state by absentee ballot in the general election this fall. This is just the warm up. But we hope lots you come out and vote in person for the global primary. Then we can start to get the momentum and excitement we need for the main event later this year!
Where: Carnegie's Taipei, AnHe Road, Sec. 2, No. 100, Taipei
When: May 1, 2012, Time: Noon to 10:00 pm.
If you cannot cast your ballot in person, then you can request an absentee ballot. Requests for absentee ballots must be sent to RVC-AP@democratsabroad.org before April 30, 2012.
If you have friends or family who would like to participate, we will need to sign them up as members of Democrats Abroad. This can be done at www.democratsabroad.org. Voting in this Global Primary is available to DA Taiwan members who will be 18 or over on Nov. 6, 2012 when the
fall presidential election takes place. DA Taiwan members must be U.S. citizens.
Outside the voting area, we will have an opportunity for drinks, food, and great discussion with fellow Democrats.
