They made a desert and called it development

Yeah, my blood's so mad feels like coagulatin'
I'm sitting here just contemplatin'
I can't twist the truth, it knows no regulation.
Handful of senators don't pass legislation

An image of planned/ongoing "development" projects for the East Coast. Basically, each line represents one project. Four example, the yellow box at lower right lists some kind of tourist area, followed by the names of four hotels.

Better see the East Coast soon.

  2. I loved the three cross island highways and the east coast when they did not have much paved roads. Too bad that employment and diversifying population has been taking a toll on the natural environment.

I am wondering whether they have planned how much residential population and how much visitor population is optimum for the locations to achieve a good balance.

  3. George, however many tour buses can be parked in the lot and on the roads leading up to the parking lots -that's how many visitors they have deemed is optimal for just about any location (excluding, perhaps, the salmon viewing platform in Wuling) in Taiwan.

  4. I was wondering whether it would be good to limit the numbers and increase the price of tours, but the locals probably would not benefit. So how do you let locals have a better life in a way that they are aggressively involved?
