Those Foreign Men

Anyone remember the tale of the young lady who had a catfight in the street over the affections of an alleged AIT employee? Reprise that tale on my blog, for the heroine of They're Rogering Our Women! is back with Rogered by Whitey: the Sequel. The Liberty Times has the call in Chinese.

Our Heroine claims that the guy somehow hurt her to the tune of NT$5000 in medical fees, which he blithely blew off. Because he used a fake ID and she couldn't find him, she says, she used a pic of one of the female stars of Cape No. 7 to entice him into coming out for a date, then got a friend of hers to pose as the woman in the photo. Woman #2 and her boyfriend then followed the hapless Aussie back to his lair someone in the wilds of Chunghsiao East Rd, Sec 4. She then filed a complaint with the police and Our Men in Blue pounced on the offender as he left his home.

They're rogering our women! is always a good trope when the news is slow, in most any culture. And on blogs!

  • Chinese hawks demand new Cold War. "A major-general in the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), Luo Yuan, told a television audience that more missiles would be deployed against Taiwan. And a PLA strategist, Colonel Meng Xianging, said China would “qualitatively upgrade” its military over the next 10 years to force a showdown “when we’re strong enough for a hand-to-hand fight with the US”."
  • Gerrit van der Wees' review of new Jay Taylor book on the Generalissimo.

  1. Technically speaking, their women are rogering *me*. Ungently.

  2. It's pretty funny using a pic from a Cape No 7 actress worked in getting him out for a date where the only initial contact was online... Guy sounds naive... almost too dumb to be believable... almost...

  3. My best part was how he hurt her, giving her medical bills of NT$5,000!!!! That is a little over US$150. Now I know that the cost of living is higher in the US and all, but if it only cost US$150 to treat her grave injury, then it is probably not worth getting upset over. I have had pimples popped for more money.

The Cold War article is scary. I would hope the Chinese leadership would not be so stupid as to listen to such voices.

  4. I agree, but my feeling is that we're heading for a whole series of classic hegemonic wars....

  5. The lesson that should be taken from this is do not use tagged.com under any circumstances. None. It is a highly dangerous website that leaves unwitting young men vulnerable to getting set up and arrested by cops. There is no tangible benefit to using this immoral and dangerous website. Be advised, stay far away.

  7. And yet teh woamn says she only dates foreigners... showed the "TV journalists" her favorite Internet site, full of pics of foreigners looking for dates...

"Why do they always lie to me?", she complains.

Please note they disguise her voice and cover her face with mosaic on TV.

    *Sigh*

  8. I don't have a good comment (Other than "wow he's a douche lord, and she's got some stupendous issues, but this is NOT NEWS") but I just wanted to point out that my Word Verification is "dedly".

  9. I think you rogered the second link. It goes back to your blog story, not the Liberty Times.

  10. @TicoExpat Huh, the "rogered-woman" in the ERA News version, uses a MacBook. Now I am a Mac user and I know their prices are going down, but the fact that she uses a pretty expensive computer like that shows me that she is not as naive as she and ERA news make out. Nor as poor, for that matter.
The gossipy nature of what passes for news here makes me really nauseated. People aren't even aware - and don't even have the curiosity to check - what goes on outside Taiwan, China, and Japan. Just cheesy, kitschy game shows and gossipy, seedy news. And people - regular, ordinary people - actually fall for this, and think that somehow yeah, this tells us there are so many bad foreigners out there, blah, blah, blah. I just have to nod and go, yeah, okay, but why do you read gossipy things like Apple Daily, and they go, oh but this was not regular news, and everybody is talking about this, there are so many stories about bad foreigners,
Ugh. Utterly, flipping unbelievable. No stopping this. I prefer to watch Fox News and MSNBC in a padded room for 65 years. At least a fair amount of reality filters through the inanity.

  11. Yeah, I know. National news = local news. Sad. There are too many news outlets here, and they all need to fill stuff 24-7....

    I like your MAC-based analysis...
