This article is extremely biased, likely due to the influence of prominent anti-KMT (Ma's party) bloggers such as Michael Turton (http://michaelturton.blogspot.com/) and Taiwan Matters (http://taiwanmatters.blogspot.com/).
Hey, I'm a "prominent anti-KMT blogger"! And there I was, imagining the only prominence I had was that bulge around my waistline. I think poor Brian there made my day. Meanwhile, let's hand out some recognition to bloggers who are less biased than my poor "Just because the DPP [says] it makes it right" self....

My thing on Morris Chang was because I read it in the (physical) paper at Subway yesterday and thought it was interesting. I'd analyzed his company for investment before, so I was familiar with who he was. It's always interesting to hear what someone so successful has to say about topics we blog about.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea who "feiren" is. I've noticed him (her?) writing a comment here and there on your blog, though.
Got a brother in law who works for TSMC. Very well run company.
ReplyDeleteSorry, can't tell you who Feiren is. But s/he's an extremely knowledgeable and connected expat.

Michael,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Costa Rica link. I am quite concerned about the refinery, especially if the oil deposits under the tropical forests or the eastern coastline are going to be affected.
The relationships between Taiwan and most of its allies are not healthy, and the government doe snot have enough reliable and comprehensive intelligence on the issues to anticipate and manage the problems derived thereof.
Sad but true. There are many good reasons to support Taiwan and its democratic cause, but most of them are stained and hidden under loads of bad PR and even worse policies.
