I tracked down some more bug pics off my website, and added a new pictures page today (grand opening later) that includes a couple of bug shots....
Well, it ain't a bug, but it shore is purty....
A moth clings to our car door....
Caught this beetle crawling across someone's bumper....
This bad boy was off to steal someone's crops....
It's not fair - most of the bugs we get here are boring things like ants, 'plain' spiders, 'roaches and the odd flatworm. Nothing as exotic as you get over there in Da-ken.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, what camera are you using? And are you using a special macro lens for these shots?
I'm using a Fuji s5000, with the zoom/macro equal to a 37mm-370mm SLR lens. Macro is built in. Picture quality is excellent for my needs, and the camera is durable; I've turn over the counter once already, so have shot over 10K pics since February of last year.
ReplyDeleteMost of these bugs I didn't get at home! The slug was at Chaoyang U, the beetle on Wu Chuan W. Rd, the caterpillar in Keelung. The moth I shot on our car one morning. I've been trying to get ticks and cockroaches, but unlike other bugs, they won't pose.
Sounds like you caught one of the local wolf spiders. There are pictures on my critter page.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the offer, but frankly, such a pic is liable to have a negative effect on my appetite.
