My brother and I would go to his house during Thanksgiving and other short-breaks since we didn't have anywhere else to go outside of our dormitory. He and his wife, Mrs. Lin, would take us to play with their grandchildren and bring us back at the end of the day.

I can still remember clearly when he first met us, all he spoke was English because he wanted to know how comprehensive we were. Once we "passed" his oral exam, it was all Taiwanese from the point on.

The fate of Taiwan was ALWAYS on his mind. He emphasized strongly on the recognition and identity of Taiwanese, and regularly wrote letters to the officials in Taiwan.

Words from my family said that his wife and family are well. They will miss him, so will I.Hansnoreply@blogger.com
