As you know, this is totally a political ploy that only benefits Taiwan businessmen, who are already pro-China, and will have no effect on the lives of ordinary Taiwanese.

The money is also not needed. Taiwan may be going into a recession next year, but it is not like the country is so poor that it can't ride out the storm. All China is showing is that it has money to burn, and to do it, it is making a charity case out of Taiwan. Yay!

The amount is also paltry. US$19 billion for Taiwanese enterprises in China is not a lot as there are many many Taiwan enterprises.

The fact that Taiwanese put up with this shit does say a lot.Tommyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13552370490869601403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10698887.post-13289710305919206912008-12-22T23:33:00.000+08:002008-12-22T23:33:00.000+08:00Sorry, this is unrelated. Do you have the link so that I can check this out?

"Your Enquiry
Dear Sir, I have noticed that you have listed Taiwan as "Taiwan, Province of China". Note that this is not the correct name of the country/region in question. If you are going to list Taiwan/ROC at all, please do so in a way that avoids transforming the Post into an organ of PRC propaganda.

Our Response
We have had a number of enquiries come through regarding this and have since made changes to our website. Thankyou for taking the time to bring this to our attention. .

On behalf of Australia Post, I apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment this matter has caused you.

Kind Regards,

Nathan"Tommyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13552370490869601403noreply@blogger.com
