Lynn Miles passes

Lynn Miles, the longtime activist and fighter for human rights, democracy, and peace, passed away in the early morning hours today. He was a very great human being who always spoke truth to power, and will be missed by all who knew him, and by Taiwan. Om shanti, om shanti, om shanti.

FocusTaiwan's report. Also WantWant's, which puts in the important detail: the gov'ts final act in his life was to indict him...

The American-Taiwanese Mr. Lynn Miles is one of the "real ones" that I admire very much: they know and choose their values and principles, they live them, fully! It sounds simple, yet, it is rare to find such people in the world. The majority of people only talk the talks; very few walk half the walks; rare are those that walk the walks fully! Mr. Miles is one of those rare people.

Now, Mr. Miles has chosen peace after knowing that the illness had the upper hand. Peace, freedom and truth are the contents of his life; in them is his soul for ever basking.

My highest respect to Mr. Miles! Thank you for being an example! We know you are free and in peace.

Thank you for calling him what he really was, an American-Taiwanese. He never cared much for passports though :).
