Spring Stillness and Movement Mountain Retreat
April 29th - May 1st 2011
YangMing Mountain, near Taipei
The East West Culture Project (EWCP) is proud to present an exclusive two days/nights Meditation and Mindfulness Retreat, dedicated to the expatriate community in Taiwan and greater Asia. The program is designed to offer participants of all levels of experience a chance to immerse themselves in time-proven relaxation and rejuvenation practices for the body, while steeping their minds in the art of awareness, or living in the moment.
The Spring Stillness and Movement Mountain Retreat will be held from Friday evening, April 29th, to Sunday evening, May 1st, at a luxurious hot-spring resort nestled in one of YangMing Mountain’s gorgeous valleys, just over an hour’s drive from downtown Taipei.
This unique course will include:
• Qi Gong, the ancient Chinese art of aligning breath with physical action and pure mindfulness. Practices and exercises of varying degrees of difficulty will be taught;
• Yoga, with highly qualified instructors, formerly of Taipei’s most exclusive yoga studios;
• Meditation, in the traditional Tibetan 7-point style, along with more advanced visualization techniques.
The highlight of the retreat will be a special lecture followed by a Q&A session with the Venerable Khenchen Rinpoche, a highly respected and accomplished meditation master who has taught thousands of students all over the world for the past 30 years.
The daily schedule will allow plenty of opportunities to enjoy the top-notch facilities on site (including natural hot springs, exquisite dining, gym, etc.), and gorgeous hiking trails, basking in the stunning natural surroundings and crisp mountain air. Emphasis will be placed on mindfulness throughout all activities, allowing participants to cultivate this invaluable skill even whilst relaxing.
It is the EWCP’s intention to offer a practical getaway, combining the relaxation of a perfect vacation with instruction on special, beneficial techniques that will be highly useful in daily life long after the end of the weekend retreat.
Prices start from NT$7,000, with discounts available. The cost is inclusive of all meals, round-trip coach transportation between Taipei and the retreat site, luxurious accommodation on a shared basis, use of all facilities, tutorial fees and materials.
