Taiwan studies funded by Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation? Why does this statement send chills down my spine?

CCK is shit -- so let SOAS turn it into fertilizer.

The CCK Foundation is interesting as some of the work it has funded led to a China centered ideological bent. Still, it has also funded projects that directly opposed China-centric research about Taiwan. It is sort of an enigma that way. In many cases the CCKF gives out grants and then doesn't get involved... in others the patronage influenced the research results.
