Soong disrupts President's Speech

After posting below on Soong....today it was Soong who disrupted the President's speech. Thanks for the rebuke, America:

The protestation of People First Party (PFP) legislators led by chairman James Soong at the National Day rally this morning had not only marred the festivity of the event but also amazed foreign guests who were on the reviewing stand.

Stephen Young, director of the Taipei Office, American Institute in Taiwan, when asked about his reaction to the commotion caused by the PFP members, responded in asking the reporters back "should we all be polite to each other?" He also asked the reporters to ask James Soong for an explanation on his action.

Soong and the PFP legislators shouted while President Chen Shui-bian was delivering his speech before the mass at the rally. They also came down from the reviewing stand to disrupt the performance of the honor guard.

Young said it is the practice of democratic countries to wait for the decision of the court before laying blame on the president for any wrong he had committed. The AIT's attitude, he said, is to call for a peaceful settlement of the dispute.

Is Soong trying to look "strong" as opposed to the weak and vacillating Ma?

That much-praised Mayor Ma ain't behaving much better than James Soong. Just look at the chaos on Chunghsiao East Road.

Yep, the big man is trying to appear strong. The question is why? He has not made his ambitions clear. At any rate, isn't it comical how this guy, who was recently convicted of tax evasion for funneling money to the US using the bank accounts of relatives, is not taken to task for portraying his pompous self as an anti-corruption crusader????

It's not funny, it's sick. It's comic aspect ceased ages ago.

What happened on Chung Hsiao E. Rd?

Prosecution against Ma would be much preferred.

Last night on Chunghsiao East Road just around Sogo Department Store, those rioters were harassing shoppers and vendors, illegally of course.

Harassing shoppers? Wonderful. Was any of that on the evening news? No, let me guess, it wasn't shown on any of the pan-Blue stations.....

It is really nothing new. If those redshirts beat you up, the media coverage would be something like, you asked for it, your being provocative caused the trouble, or even you were a pan-green "thug" exercising violence against those "peaceful" redshirts. Worse, such discriminating attitude is shared by the law enforcement as well. Check out the video clip below:

Rioters? Comparing to what? What did they do?

Did you guys forget how DPP use to do to the public? Huh?

Truely you guys are so called 台灣亂源!!

Taiwan would be a better place without you pan-green scumbags.

Well on the bright side, perhaps the redshirts are being given enough rope to hang themselves... intentional or not.

To non-Taiwanese people, watching these activites is like watching wrestling. They care nothing but game rules, stage performance, sportsmanship, .....

However, to us, we only care about if the fast declining position of Taiwan caused by a corrupted government can soon be ceased. We only care about if the lost competitiveness of this nation can soon be recovered. We only care about if the fading pride of being a Taiwanese can soon be saved.

Isn't it too luxurious for us to care about the timing, the occasion, and the postures ?

now contrast that "security" with the treatment the GMD gave to earthquake victims who hadn't gotten any central government help back on 10/10/99.

In response to pl:

Q : Rioters? Comparing to what? What did they do?
A : they broke the law by taking unapplied public spaces into their marching route.

Q : Did you guys forget how DPP use to do to the public? Huh?
A : What did DPP do to the public? Or should I ask did you remember how the white terror reigned over this island? Which consequently caused people to oppose?

Truely you guys are so called 台灣亂源!!
I don't need to respond to this, any sensible human being would know what has been happening in the blue-controlled Legislative Yuan... (hey it rhymes too! 源 + 院)

Taiwan would be a better place without you pan-green scumbags.
Taiwan would have been a much better place if KMT didn't come around and drag us 30 to 50 years back. Read your history dude.
